As Digital Humanities require multiple types of expertise, they are often collaborative. Large-scale projects especially require many participants. What are the challenges for faculty in participating in cross-departmental projects? I conduct a literature review as well as creating a survey to be distributed on campus.

Hi Rafia, I am excited to see how this turns out (as you know, DH is near and dear to my heart). Do you plan to focus on UTA or do you plan to expand your scope to include some other universities?

  • Marcela Gutierrez

Hi Rafia. Being in social work, I’m new to the concept of digital humanities in general. It’d be great to learn how some of this might be useful in the applied social sciences.

I’ve always been interested in applying technology to history and archiving in general. This seems like a strong fit.

I enjoyed learning more about digital humanities! I need to explore further the resources you have curated on the library website. I hadn’t realized, until your presentation, about how complex the collaborations are. Thanks for introducing us to the ideas of Bethany Nowviskie. I truly appreciate your points about infrastruture needed to have a digital humanities initiative and to foster collaborations. I think about these types of things, as well, like infrastructure.
