Laurel Mayo is the Director of the LINK Lab where she oversees the activities of talented staff and dedicated research fellows who conduct research on the digitization of knowledge and learning. She leads the Professional Learning Community (PLC) program which brings together faculty and staff in themed groups to explore and implement strategies, activities, and projects that improve the learning experience at the University. Mayo has a background in teaching at both the secondary and university levels and has served as an external examiner in French at Drake University as well as a language mentor for a federally funded grant, Virtual Language Study, (VLS). Her faculty development experience includes instructional design for online and blended courses, technical LMS training, review processes, and strategies for building engagement. She served as the Activities Director for the US Department of Education Title III grant program āStrengthening Institutionsā at Texas Wesleyan University. Mayo holds a Master of Arts from UT Arlington.
