Diverse Synchronous M-Learning: Using a Synchronous Mobile Tool to Develop Multicultural/Diverse Science Lessons |
|
This study is to measure the effects of the Diverse Synchronous M-Learning (DSML) model on teacher candidates in developing Multicultural/diverse Science Lessons for culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) students. During their lesson planning, the teacher candidates are assigned to ten professionals who have strong cultural background of their own countries and communicate with the professionals through mobile tool (Zoom) at specific times. The effects of using the DSML model will be measured through pre- and post-self efficacy test, multicultural/diverse lessons, their students’ artifacts, reflection, and test scores, and a final reflection at the end of the study. Through this study, the teacher candidates will be furnished with the knowledge and the skills of using a synchronous mobile tool in their teaching facilitating the environment where their CLD students are actively involved in and fully understanding science at any time and any place.
